Psychotherapy Services

Therapy should never be a a one-size-fits-all approach. We will work collaboratively to develop a personalized treatment plan that fits your individual needs. Because I do not work with insurance, we are not beholden to the rigid rules and expectations of insurance companies and managed care. Therefore, we can be flexible on frequency and duration of sessions. I also take on just a small number of clients, which allows me to be more focused on the clients I am currently working with. Therapy with me is discrete, specialized, and tailored to you. I offer a free 15-20 minute discovery call to discuss your goals and to see if we are a good fit.

*Current availability: My books are currently open for new clients for virtual sessions for clients located in CA, NJ, and NY. In-person sessions are also available in West Los Angeles.

Tailored treatment to meet your individual needs

Chronic Pain Therapy

Recovery is possible.

Are you struggling with chronic pain that medical practitioners haven't been able to resolve? Have you explored countless approaches and consulted numerous specialists without finding relief for your unexplained symptoms? It's common to discover that viewing pain solely through a medical or physical lens isn't enough. If you've found yourself here, you may have realized that a different approach is needed. As a chronic pain therapist in Los Angeles, I specialize in treating chronic pain from a mind-body perspective. This approach can help reduce the fear associated with pain and, ultimately, diminish the pain itself.

As a pain psychologist in California, I utilize evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to effectively treat chronic pain. My PRT certification from the Pain Reprocessing Therapy Center equips me to address neuroplastic or primary pain with proven strategies.

Understanding pain science through psychoeducation is a critical part of our work together. By reinterpreting pain as a danger signal, we can manage, reduce, and even eliminate chronic issues such as:

  • Persistent back pain or post-surgery pain

  • Neck pain

  • Headaches and migraines

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

  • Chronic joint pain and carpal tunnel

  • Inconsistent symptoms like tingling, numbness, cramping, and tightness

  • Unexplained physical symptoms with no medical diagnosis (negative tests but continued pain)

  • Pain from past surgeries or injuries

  • Medication-resistant pain

  • Chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia

If you're looking for a pain psychologist or chronic pain therapist in Los Angeles, I'm here to help you on your journey to relief.

Autoimmune Disorders

Having a chronic illness or autoimmune disorder can be very isolating. You may feel that people in your life simply do not understand how complex even day-to-day tasks can be when living with chronic illness.

We will use a flexible approach to meet you where you are. It is possible to live well, be happy, and enjoy your life with autoimmune conditions. No matter where you are in your journey, we will use evidence-based practices to manage symptoms, create overall healthy habits, and reduce stress by calming your nervous system, among other interventions.

I always approach healing from a mind-body perspective. Those with autoimmune disorders are often working closely with a functional medicine physician, naturopath, nutritionist, or other type of medical provider who has set forth a treatment plan that includes significant life-styles changes (diet, exercise, reducing environmental toxin load). These changes can be challenging to organize, implement, and maintain. We can work to build healthy habits around these treatment plans as well. I am also happy to consult with your treatment providers in your care.

Therapy does not have to be for someone with a mental illness or related symptoms. Sometimes you simply need support through life transitions. As with any of my other therapy approaches, we will also used evidence-based interventions to help you manage your anxiety, examine how your personality characteristics (e.g., perfectionism) may be getting in your way of achieving your goals, or receiving support from an objective party (me!) to navigate all types of life transitions.
